FortLUG Members Serve At FLL Championship

The FIRST LEGO League Northern Indiana State Championship tournament is coming up on December 9 at IPFW.  This tournament will host 48 teams from the state as they vie for the championship and an invitation to the FLL World Festival, which will be held in Detroit in late April 2018.  FortLUG’s own Ed DeWitt will be serving as a Co-Judge Advisor.  He and another Co-JA will be above the three Lead Judges, which are themselves above eight more individual Judges.  FortLUG member Kathy Becktell has also volunteered her support to the event, in whatever capacity is needed.  In the past, she’s served as a timer and other various positions.  There’s always so much excitement in the kids and teams that participate, and FortLUG loves being a part of that.

This year’s challenge is Hydrodynamics.  From the FLL:

On your mark, get set, flow!  Drink in the 2017/2018 HYDRO DYNAMICSSM season and learn all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. In the 2017/2018 FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, students age 9 to 16* from 80 countries will make a splash with HYDRO DYNAMICS. What might become possible when we understand what happens to our water?

*Ages vary by country.
