The First LEGO League Robotics Competition for high school students was held at IPFW on December 14, 2013 and a few FortLUG members served as volunteers at the event. The First LEGO League was founded in 1989 and provides hands-on science, technology, and engineering education through LEGO building.
Participating teams design, build, and program their own robots to navigate through a prescribed challenge. Teams are judged on a number of factors which include robot design and performance, teamwork, and professionalism. This years challenge was nature’s fury: responding to and rebuilding after a natural disaster. Congratulations go out to Team YETI from Granger, IN for taking home the championship trophy and to FortLUG member Ed DeWitt for receiving a volunteer award!
